Suprise!

We decided to wait until Christmas morning to tell our parents about the coming of their first granchild. We decided to give them something that would show them the truth... So we went shopping in the baby department at Kohl's. This is the first time that I Hyperventilated. We tricked ourselves into thinking it was okay to be in that department by pretending to buy baby clothes for friends of ours who are about to have a baby. And we bought a bib that said "Going to Grandmas" and we got out of there before anyone saw our dirty secret.

Here is my mom's intial reaction- sheer horror.

Here is her second reaction- forced happiness. (just kidding, I think she's trying not to cry in front of the camera) My dad, as you can see, is about to begin weeping.

Next we called Minnesota to spread the blessed news. Unfortunately we don't have picture phone, but I'm sure that it would have been priceless! Mark's mom let forth a stream of happiness and had to pass the phone on to more sarcastic members of the family to get herself together. But Carrie had wonderful words of love for us. Overall it was a great day. Now if the kid would just hurry up and stop making me feel sick.
