Minnesota

Over the fourth of July we decided to take a trip to Minnesota to see the fam and some friends. Wow. Traveling with an almost 2 year old is not my idea of fun. Next time we are going to teleport there.

Here we are hanging out at Uncle Bob's cabin on the lake near Alexandria. There were tons of cool toys there- the coolest being a bucket truck that was for the power company.
Then we went out on Mark's cousin's boat. Mark got to water ski for the first time in a long time! Caleb liked his first time on a boat.
We went with Grandma and Papa to the zoo. Caleb got to see a huge gorilla up close and a lion too. His favorite was the pond full of ducks, of course.
Now that Carrie has discovered that being a nanny is not the career for her, she has decided to pursue a career that allows her to use her talents at Rock Band. Yes folks- we bought it and Guitar Hero III as well after simply playing it one time. Come on over- our band rocks.
Caleb loves antiques.

We took a walk down by a creek near Grandma and Papa's house. It was a really nice trail. This was Caleb's favorite part- throwing rocks into the creek. He hates to get his hands dirty though so after he would pick up a rock and throw it into the water we would go to Papa and say "hands!" so that Papa would brush the dirt off of them. And on the way back we added another capital to our tour. We finally stopped in Madison, after talking about it a million times. Madison has a pretty nice state capital building- a very beautiful rotunda. But I almost had to stop Mark from getting into a fight with the state representative from Green Bay. They were doing a little bit of smack talk.
